7 Days adventure – 5 days dog sled expedition

This is the ultimate way to explore lapland, as you will join a 5 days dog sled expedition. You will get your own team of dogs, and you are in charge! You will feed them, drive them and generally play an active part in the group, also helping with cooking etc.

You will stay overnight in wilderness cabins in the middle of the arctic nature. You will enjoy the snow covered landscape and the northern lights in the evening. The wilderness cabin does not have electricity nor running water. You will cook over open fire and enjoy the evening in the light of the candles.

The tour is guided and you will have assistance all along the way. Before and after the tour you will have an overnight at a local hotel. Therefore the programme is totally 7 night long.

DAY TO DAY PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival to Kittilä
Departure from a Finair destination in Europe to Kittilä – Finish Lapland. Our local representative will meet you in the airport upon arrival and take you to Muonio . You will stay in a cabin shared with your travel companions for this first night. Dinner is included this first night.

Day 2-5: Dog sled adventure
Enjoy breakfast before you go to the dog yard for an introduction to your equipment ad your local guide. When all safety is in order you will get to meet your dog team and also get some practice on driving the dog sled before you take of into the arctic nature. The winter wonder land surrounding you is amazing, and you will pass frozen lakes, and snow coveres trees before arrival to your wilderness cabin.

The cabins are simple. We have no running water and no electricity. Cooking is made over open fire and all travellers are participating in the activities around preparing dinner. Saunas will be available and open for visits.

You will move around between several cabins and enjoy a day out in the nature with your dog team every day. Full board is included in the tour.

Day 6: Return to Harriniva
Late afternoon you will return back to Harriniva for your last night in Lapland. Dinner is included for the last time, before you need to say good-buy to your travel mates.

Day 7: Departure
Breakfast is serves before return transfer to Kittilä airport. From here you will return to your Finair destination in Europe after hopefully some magical days in Laplands winter wonder land.

ACCOMMODATION

Wilderness cabin Lapland

For some of our programmes in Lapland you will have overnight in a wilderness cabin included. The cabin is located in the middle of the amazing nature and winter wonderland. In the wilderness cabins you sleep in dorms and have shared facilities. Everybody plays an active part in cooking, cleaning etc. Staying overnight in the wilderness cabins is cosy and special, and you often arrives on either dog sled or snowmobile.
