DAY TO DAY PROGRAM
Day 1, Departure from Copenhagen.
Departure from Copenhagen as agreed. (We have several departures a day). Pick up your rental car and set our for your first day of exploration. We recommend a visit to the little village Gasadalur, located on Vagar Island, same as the airport.
After your drive around Vagar, you will stay this first night
Day 2: Boat trip to the bird cliffs of Vestmanna.
After breakfast you drive north. We recommend a stop in the village Vestmanna. From here you will join a boat trip to the amazing bird cliffs of Vestmanna. You will sail along the cliffs of the mainland, and into some of the caves, there the birds will be nesting. Please note this tour is not included in your package, and is an add on. Afterwards you continue further norths and enjoy the sight and landscapes along the way as you pass the Islands Streymoy and Eystyuroy. Among other sights you will have the highest mountain on the Faroe Islands – Slættaratindur (882 m).

Day 3: Day at leisure
After breakfast you can spend a day at leisure in Gjógv. Follow some of the nice hiking routes in the ara, or spend a day driving around in your car observing everyday life. . Accommodation at Eysturoy.
Day 4: Northern Islands.
After breakfast you drive to the village Leirvík and from here passing the underwater tunnel to Klaksvík. You will hav etime for exploring the northern island and the second biggest town of the Faroe Island on your own, before you reach your accommodation for tonight.

Day 5: Kunoy and Tórshavn
After breakfast we recommend you spend the morning on the Island Kunoy. From here you will have a splendid view of the Island Kalsoy. Back on Eysturoy you continue towards the capital Tórshavn. On the way you can do a homevisit, joining a local family for afternoon tea in the small village Søldafjørður. This visit is not included in the package, and must be pre-booked.

Day 6: Sandoy
Visit the beautiful green island Sandoy, also know as the saga Island. Compared to the other islands, this one is rather flat – but still rich on history and nature. Take the local ferry from Gamlarætt to Skopun. Don´t miss the villages Dalur and Húsavík. In the village Skálavík you can buy coffee and food in the new mini-resort. k

Day 7: Day at leisure in Tórshavn
Here you will be given the opportunity to walk through the old colonial part of town. Narrow streets and charming houses is to be discovered down by the harbour area. The houses are still in use and here you can see how old traditions goes hand in hand with a modern world as the locals cut the gras on top of their houses with modern equipments. In Tórshavn you will find many really good local restaurants and cafes. The Faroe Island even has a Michelin restaurant. Local food is recommended, try the world famous lamb dishes, or sushi made with local seafood. Actually we think the Arctic Salmon is the best salmon in the world – so try it out.
Back in Tórshavn during the afternoon we recommend a little afternoon drive to the village Kirkjubøur, the cultural center of the Faroe Island where you will find church ruins and one of the oldes houses, own by the same family for generations.

Day 8: Departure
Return to Vagar Island for your departure back to Copenhagen. Drop off your rental car and waive goodbye as you return back home.
